Fablab Sukkur IBA University boosts tremendous capabilities; A wonderful eco-system to design and prototype electronic and mechanical systems.
As head of the lab and instructor of various courses, I had a wonderful opportunity to help several students, design, test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, 3D printed models and wooden artefacts.
Over the past several years, I and my team have been gradually building our design and fabrication skills, working several popular micro-controllers and useful ICs to make useful circuits.
We tried to impart these skills in our undergraduate students.
Micro-Controllers
Atmel family of micro-controllers is very popular among students and enthusiasts alike, due to abundant documentation, reference code and readily available online support.
At fablab Sukkur IBA University we have used the following devices extensively for various embedded system design projects.
More recently, several manufacturers are producing more and more sophisticated ICs which embody a complete digital system and can perform a complex operation and provide a digital interface to embedded systems for communication and control. Such all digital devices are available for a wide range of applications such as MP3 Players to FM Radios, Current Sensing, Energy Metering IC and Battery Management Systems, SPO2, ECG sensors and LED Matrix driver IC. At fabLab we have developed the capability to use such integrated circuits in our applications.
