As an engineer it is very important to acquire technical skills and necessary experience to design electronic circuits and develope functional products which may be suitable for specified requirements.
Design of a embedded project is not a step by step process, while designing the product an engineer must have a clear understanding of the design requirements, user interface, reliability, cost and process of manufacturing.
Keeping in view of all these considerations the engineers have to fine tune a product through several iterations. This module provided our students a wonderful opportunity to immerse in a semester long embedded system design project a develop design thinking philosophy.
To pursue this goal in 2019, Introduction to Embedded Systems was rebranded as a project based course with the philosophy of “Teach Less Learn More”.
Letting students work on sizeable design projects developing valuable skills such a team work, project management, collection and analysis of information; understanding design requirements, manufacturing and reliability considerations.
The students were asked to come up with comprehensive technical reports outlining their design approach, experiences and learning outcomes.
